About

Shalom! My name is Shana Medel, pronounced Shah-nah Muh-dell. I’m a proud Floridian who just resettled in my native Orlando.

Raised in Central Florida, I belonged to a small, tight-knit Jewish community. Many of my weekends were spent on the bimah, leading services and chanting Torah as well as Haftorah. After graduating from high school, I participated in the yearlong Nativ College Leadership Program, where I studied at the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem and volunteered at Kfar Hasidim in Haifa.

I returned to Orlando to complete my undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida. In May 2017, I graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in Judaic studies.

Now, I work as an associate content director at CMRignite, responsible for all writing and editing needs for our clients, many of which are Jewish nonprofits.

Most of my weeknights are dedicated to teaching b’nai mitzvah students, which I’ve been doing in-person and online since 2016. So far, I’ve tutored more than 30 students.

Preparing for the big day isn’t a memorization game. As an experienced tutor, I’m dedicated to creating an enjoyable experience for your child, one that seamlessly allows them to deepen their Jewish knowledge and develop a meaningful connection with Judaism.
